I offer both short-term counselling and long-term psychotherapy in Brockenhurst in the New Forest. I specialise in supporting people with the emotional impact of long-term health conditions (e.g. chronic pain, cancer, MS, etc.), a palliative diagnosis and bereavement.
I offer a space for you to explore how you feel about such issues, develop insight and understanding, as well as an opportunity to consider choices or coping strategies that might be helpful to you. The pace and nature of the work will guided by you.
Though my approach to therapy is primarily existential-analytic, I also draw on systemic, person-centred and cognitive behavioural models if I feel it will be helpful for my clients.
My experience includes working for the mental health charity Mind and running a telephone-based counselling service for an EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) provider. I also spent several years supporting those affected by a cancer diagnosis at The Mulberry Centre, West Middlesex Hospital and Maggie’s Centre in Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith.
